Patti Smith Live in London Playing ‘Horses’

Jul 5th 2010 | 0 COMMENTS

I was at the Patti Smith gig in Hyde Park in London last week, 2010, and shot a sweet clip of her performing ‘Horses’.

It was a fantastic experience seeing her live, her performance was fueled by a rare passion. Incidentally one of my favourite exhibitions in recent years was her show at the Cartier Foundation in Paris. It showed a combination of her polaroid photography and artworks including journals and live poetry performances from over the years and one amazing room with the Coral Sea playing on rotation - That was a live performance in London Patti did with the godlike genius Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine.

Pattis work is unapologetic, un-ironic and totally lacking in the modern disease of irony. She is what she is.

This review on the Lens Culture site expands a little further.
